Penggunaan Gawai Berdampak pada Psikososial Anak Usia Dini : Pendekatan Naratif Inquiri Berbasis Studi Kasus
The Impact of Gadget Use on Early Childhood Psychosocial Development: A Case Study-Based Narrative Inquiry Approach

This study aims to describe the role of parents in accompanying children in dealing with gadget use among Early Childhood Education (ECE) students and its impact on psychosocial development. The research employed a qualitative method with a narrative inquiry approach based on a case study at an Early Childhood Education (PAUD) institution in Parung, Bogor. The participants of this study included parents and students at PAUD Parung, Bogor. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The findings indicate that the intensity of gadget use among early childhood students in PAUD Parung, Bogor is relatively high, with usage exceeding one hour per day. The applications most frequently accessed by the children were YouTube and games. Furthermore, the study revealed that some children experienced psychosocial disturbances, such as sadness, crying, anger, drastic mood swings (e.g., sudden tantrums), social withdrawal, and a loss of interest in friends and activities they usually enjoy. The role of parents in managing gadget use among early childhood students at PAUD Parung, Bogor involved four (4) preventive efforts: Monitoring and accompanying children, Discussing the impacts and benefits of gadget use with children, Setting time limits for gadget use, and Providing alternative activities (distraction).
ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran yang dilakukan orang tua dalam mendampingi anak dalam menghadapi penggunaan gawai pada Anak Usia Dini yang berdampak pada Psikososial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, pendekatan naratif inquiri berbasis studi kasus pada Lembaga Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) di Parung Bogor. Sedangkan partisipan dalam penelitian ini mencakup orang tua dan peserta didik di PAUD Parung Bogor. Data diperoleh dengan melalui observasi , tehnik wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa Penggunaan Gawai pada Anak usia dini di PAUD Parung Bogor intensitasnya tergolong cukup tinggi yaitu diatas satu jam penggunaan, aplikasi yang dibuka anak selama menggunakan gawai adalah Youtube dan Game. Selain penelitian ini juga menghasilkan temuan bahwasannya beberapa anak mengalami gangguan psikososial. Seperti sedih, menangis, marah, suasana hati berubah drastis seperti tiba-tiba mengamuk, menarik diri dari lingkungan sosial dan hilangnya minat pada teman dan kegiatan yang biasanya mereka nikmati. Peran orang tua dalam menghadapi penggunaan gawai pada anak usia dini yang ditemukan di PAUD Parung Bogor, terdapat 4 (empat) upaya preventif, yaitu: (1) pengawasan dan pendampingan anak, (2) Diskusi dampak dan manfaat gawai dengan anak, (3) penetapan batas waktu penggunaan gawai, dan (4) adalah pengalihan.
