The Relationship Between Knowledge of Fertile Age Couples and the Selection of Implant Contraceptive Devices in Slukatan Village

Abstract

Implants are contraceptives in the form of silicone rubber implants containing the hormone progesterone which have a usage period of 5-3 years. The level of use of Implant KB in the community is still relatively low compared to birth control pills and injections. One of the factors that influences the low choice of implant KB is the level of public knowledge, especially fertile couples who do not understand how it works, side effects, benefits and how to install it. Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge of fertile couples and the choice of Implant contraceptives. Method: The method in this study used a quantitative method with a correlation design and a cross-sectional approach. Data collection was taken from KB visits in Slukatan Village in September 2024. The population in this study were fertile couples in Slukatan Village totaling 32 respondents. The sample of this study was 32 respondents with a total sampling technique. Bivariate data analysis used the chi square test (X2). Results: Based on the study according to the age of the mother, the most were aged 19-30 years, 20 respondents (62.5%), according to the Respondent's Occupation, the majority were housewives, namely 31 (96.9%), Respondents' knowledge was more on sufficient knowledge, 24 respondents (75%), and the choice of contraceptives was more non-implant, namely 20 respondents (62.2%). The results of the chi square test obtained a p Value of 0.001 <α (0.05), this indicates that there is a relationship between knowledge and the choice of using implant contraception in Slukatan Village. Suggestion: So that health workers always provide information about implant contraceptives.

Abstrak

Implan merupakan kontrasepsi berupa susuk karet silikon yang mengandung hormon progesteron yang jangka waktu pemakaiannya 5-3 tahun. Tingkat pengunaan KB Implant di masyarakat masih tergolong rendah dibandingkan dengan pil dan suntik KB. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi rendahnya pemilihan KB implant tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat, khususnya pasangan usia subur dimana belum paham mengani cara kerja, efek samping, manfaat dan cara pemasangan. Tujuan : Mengetahui Hubungan pengetahuan Pasangan usia subur dengan pemilihan alat kontrasepsi Implant. Metode : Metode dalam penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasi dan pendekatan cross sectional . Pengumpulan  data yang di ambil dari kunjungan KB di Desa Slukatan bulan September 2024. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah pasangan usia subur yang ada di Desa Slukatan sebesar 32 responden. Sampel penelitian ini sebesar 32 responden dengan teknik total sampling. Analisa data Bivariat menggunakan uji chi square (X2). Hasil: Berdasarkan penelitian menurut umur ibu yang terbanyak pada umur 19-30 tahun sebesar 20 responden (62,5%), menurut Pekerjaan Responden mayoritas IRT yaitu sebesar 31 (96,9%), Pengetahuan responden lebih banyak pada pengetahuan cukup sebesar 24 responden (75%), dan pemilihan Alat kontrasepsi lebih banyak yang Non Implant yaitu sebesar 20 responden (62,2%). Hasil uji chi square mendapatkan p Value 0,001 < α (0,05), hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara pengetahuan dengan pemilihan pemakaian alat kontrasepsi Implant di Desa Slukatan.Saran: Agar tenaga kesehatan untuk senantiasa memberikan Informasi tentang Alat Kontrasepsi Implant.
