Dukungan Sosial Dalam Adaptasi Kehidupan Klien Kanker Payudara di Kabupaten Garut

Kanker payudara merupakan kanker paling umum pada wanita di seluruh dunia, dengan hampir 1,7 juta kasus baru didiagnosis pada tahun tahun 2012. Jawa Barat merupakan salah satu provinsi sebagai penyumbang jumlah kasus kanker payudara ketiga tertinggi di Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi makna dukungan sosial dalam adaptasi kehidupan klien kanker payudara. Rancangan penelitian dengan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data dengan teknik wawancara dan observasi partisipasi dengan subyek penelitian  6 Key informan individu yang mempunyai penyakit kanker payudara. Transkripsi data di analisis menggunakan metoda analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan 3 tema muncul sebagai pemaknaan dari dukungan sosial dalam adaftasi kehidupan klien kanker payudara yaitu dukungan sosial membantu adaptasi klien dalam  menjalani kehidupan, dukungan  keluarga sebagai kekuatan dan jaringan sosial sebagai akses informasi pengobatan. Perjalananan kehidupan klien kanker payudara tidak terlepas dari pengaruh dukungan sosial. Dukungan sosial sangat bermakna dan menjadi satu kekuatan dalam adaftasi kehidupan klien kanker payudara, sehingga terbentuk mekanisme koping yang adaptif  dalam menghadapi kondisi penyakit nya dan aktivitas sosial sebagai wujud adaftasinya. Perlu penguatan dukungan sosial berbasis masyarakat dalam pengelolaan pelayanan kesehatan terhadap klien kanker payudara.
