Abstract

Blood pressure is one of the vital parameters that reflect the function of the heart and blood vessels. Pre-elderly individuals are at risk of developing high blood pressure as they age. One contributing factor to increased blood pressure is nutritional status. This study aims to determine the relationship between MUAC and blood pressure in pre-elderly individuals in Kesongo Village, Tuntang District, Semarang Regency. This study used a descriptive correlational design with a sample of 94 respondents selected through cluster random sampling. MUAC was measured using an anthropometric measuring tape, and blood pressure was assessed using a digital sphygmomanometer. The results showed that most respondents had normal MUAC, while 10,6% were categorized as obese. The average systolic blood pressure was 150.7 mmHg. Statistical analysis indicated a significant positive relationship between MUAC and systolic blood pressure (p = 0.000; r = 0.464). There is a significant positive correlation between MUAC and systolic blood pressure in pre – elderly individuals. MUAC measurement can be used as an indicator of hypertension risk in pre-elderly individuals. Health education on a healthy lifestyle is essential to prevent obesity and control blood pressure.

 

Abstrak

Tekanan darah merupakan salah satu parameter vital yang mencerminkan fungsi jantung dan pembuluh darah. pra lansia berisiko mengalami tekanan darah tinggi seiring bertambahnya usia. Salah satu faktor yang berkontribusi dalam peningkatan tekanan darah adalah status gizi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara LiLA dengan tekanan darah pada pra lansia di Desa Kesongo, Kecamatan Tuntang, Kabupaten Semarang. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif korelasional dengan jumlah sampel 94 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling. pengukuran LiLA menggunakan pita pengukur antropometri dan pengukuran tekanan darah menggunakan sphygmomanometer digital. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden memiliki LiLA dalam kategori normal, sedangkan 10,6% mengalami obesitas. Rata – rata tekanan darah sistolik adalah 150,7 mmHg. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif yang signifikan antara LiLA dan tekanan darah sistolik (p = 0,000; r = 0,464). Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara Lingkar Lengan Atas (LiLA) dan tekanan darah sistolik pada pra lansia. Pengukuran LiLA dapat digunakan sebagai indikator risiko hipertensi pada pra lansia. Diperlukan edukasi tentang pola hidup sehat untuk mencegah obesitas dan mengontrol tekanan darah.
