Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of Matholia, an interactive learning media, in improving elementary students’ mathematics achievement on fractions. The study was motivated by low student performance that had not met the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC) and limited use of media to support abstract concepts. A mixed-methods design was employed, combining a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest model with a case study involving 15 fourth-grade students at an SPK (Satuan Pendidikan Kerja Sama) elementary school in East Jakarta. Data were collected through pretests, posttests, interviews, and observations. Results show a significant improvement, with mean scores increasing from 31.93 (pretest) to 80.70 (posttest). A paired samples t-test indicated a significant difference (t = -11.48; p < 0.001). Matholia supported conceptual understanding through interactive visualization and adaptive practice. This study highlights its integration within the Merdeka Curriculum as a key contribution.

 Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas media pembelajaran interaktif Matholia dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa pada materi pecahan di sekolah dasar. Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya capaian siswa yang belum memenuhi Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) serta keterbatasan media dalam memvisualisasikan konsep abstrak. Penelitian menggunakan desain mixed method dengan kuasi-eksperimental model one-group pretest–posttest dan studi kasus pada 15 siswa kelas IV di sebuah Sekolah SPK (Satuan Pendidikan Kerja Sama) di Jakarta Timur. Data dikumpulkan melalui pretest, posttest, wawancara, dan observasi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan, dengan rata-rata skor pretest 31,93 meningkat menjadi 80,70 pada posttest. Uji paired samples t-test menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan (t = -11,48; p < 0,001). Matholia membantu siswa memahami konsep pecahan melalui visualisasi interaktif dan latihan adaptif. Kontribusi penelitian ini terletak pada integrasi Matholia dalam pembelajaran berbasis Kurikulum Merdeka melalui pendekatan studi kasus. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa Matholia efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan hasil belajar matematika siswa.
